Lawyer … Reporter … Spy? Introducing Elizabeth Flansburg
FSC Partners will occasionally join Susan and Alan in this space to share information about their services. This post was written by Beth Flansburg, our legal communicator . We think you’ll agree she’s a terrific writer in any medium!
By Beth Flansburg
When I was a child, I wanted to be a lawyer, a reporter or a spy. As an adult I achieved all of those goals (although most of the spying was done on my kids when they were up to no good).
I’m not the only journalist turned lawyer. But I’m one of only a few who honed those skills under some of the best journalists in the trade (including Michael Gartner and my father James Flansburg) and Roxanne Conlin, one of the best lawyers in the country.
My Des Moines Register and Kansas City Star mentors taught me how to write and edit with precision.
Roxanne taught me how to be a warrior in and out of the courtroom examining all facts, all relevant laws, and embracing clients’ stories as if they were my own.
I’ve recently started a new venture to help other lawyers when they need help because of busy schedules, trials, depositions, and all sorts of conflicts arising at work and at home.
So if you need help, I’ll help with whatever you need, including preparing or making oral arguments, writing and/or editing legal briefs, client prep, collaborating on trial strategy, depositions, or selecting a jury.
If you simply want to run a few ideas past someone else, I can help with that, too. My services save time, money, and give you and your clients an extra pair of hands when you need them.
I’m excited by the prospect and can’t wait to help.
